Trail S08 Santa Maria De Guia - Ingenio Blanco - Santa Ines - Barranquillo Frío - El Brezal - Los Tilos - Moya

This 11.8 km linear route of high difficulty connects Santa María de Guía with Moya in a 4-hour 14-minute hike, crossing farmland, tracks and road sections through the municipalities of Santa María de Guía, Firgas and Moya. The trail information states it's considered high difficulty due to its length and moderate cumulative elevation gain, although the slopes are not consistently steep and are relatively easy to manage. However, there are short paved sections that are demanding.

The trail ranges from a minimum altitude of 216.53 m to a maximum of 641.75 m. It follows a fairly human-modified landscape through farmland for much of the route, connected by tracks, pavement and roads, though just over half the route runs over good-quality trail surfaces. When crossing the Barranquillo del Ciruelo and the tail of the Presa del Regante reservoir, you may encounter dense vegetation and watercourses after rainy episodes.

The route begins in the Parque Rural de Doramas (C-12) and later runs parallel to the perimeter of the Reserva Natural Especial de El Brezal (C-03). Along the way you'll find scrubland of spiny broom and granadillos, as well as cardón stands. You cross areas near laurel forest in the Barranco de Moya, and around the El Brezal recreational area you can see eucalyptus, pines, tree heather and faya. However, much of the trail has no tree cover for sun protection.

You have the option to leave or split the trail at various points given the proximity to roads in the municipalities of Firgas and Santa María de Guía, with public transport stops available. The trail connects with SL 01Moy, ideal for exploring the laurel forest of Barranco de Moya. Upon reaching the El Brezal Santa Cristina recreational area, it connects with trail SL 2Guía, where you'll find a bar and leisure facilities.
