Trail S07 - Firgas - Moya - El Brezal - Santa Cristina

Trail S 07 connects Firgas, Moya, El Brezal and Santa Cristina in a linear route of 8.7 km classified as high difficulty due to its significant accumulated elevation gain. It crosses the deeply enclosed ravines of Azuaje and Moya, both featuring steep and demanding slopes, though without technical difficulty. The physical demand is similar in both directions.

The path surface is good and the route straightforward, but signage is deficient, especially in urban sections, so you need to prepare the route carefully. You can section it by taking advantage of public transport stops or food and accommodation services you'll find in Moya. Upon reaching the El Brezal Santa Cristina recreational area, the trail links with the SL 2 Guía, where there's a bar and leisure area.

Except for the Azuaje passage, the trail shows an anthropic character, as it runs along numerous sections of track and road. It offers little shade, which you should consider when planning your outing.

The trail sheet indicates important risks: some sections can be slippery when the ground is wet and there's a possibility of rockfalls, risks requiring constant attention.

This heavily used trail represents an old communication route between Santa María de Guía and Firgas, crossing Moya, and has strong historical significance and ethnographic richness. It offers high scenic value towards the Moya and Azuaje ravines, where you'll find remains of the old spa, numerous water collection wells and lime kilns.

Its high botanical value allows you to contemplate remnants of laurel forest and heathland, as well as scrubland of espinero, granadillo and tabaiba amarga. The trail crosses the Azuaje Special Nature Reserve (C-04) and the Doramas Rural Park (C-12).
