La Caleta is located in the municipality of Valverde, on the northeast coast of El Hierro. This is not a sandy beach, but a coastal bathing area that emerges among rocks and cliffs. The site takes its name from the small cluster of fishermen's houses that surround it.

Next to the houses you'll find a saltwater pool filled by pumping, designed for calm swimming. From this pool you can also access the sea directly via a ladder, if you prefer to swim in open water. The area features a wooden walkway that runs along part of the coast and offers ocean views.

La Caleta is close to El Hierro airport, so you may occasionally see small planes taking off or landing while strolling through the area. The setting is simple and functional, without extensive tourist services, but it provides direct sea access in a quiet corner of the island.
