El Tamaduste

Natural Puddles and PoolsBeachesOutdoors / Nature

In the coastal village of Tamaduste, Valverde, you'll find a natural pool formed by volcanic rock that opens directly onto the Atlantic Ocean. The enclosure, protected by a stone wall, creates a calm bathing area where the water is renewed with the tides. Here you can swim without the direct force of the outside swell, watch small fish among the rocks and immerse yourself in transparent waters.

The pool is part of the small village of Tamaduste, an old fishing settlement on the eastern coast of El Hierro. From the volcanic stone edge you have views of the open sea and the mountainous profile of the island. It's a common spot for local swimming and a reference point within the coastal geography of El Hierro, marked by cliffs and lava formations reaching the water.
