Las Coloradas

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa de las Coloradas is located in Yaiza, on the southern coast of Lanzarote, near Playa Blanca. It is a volcanic coastal stretch where rock formations and lava terrain prevail over sand, giving it a natural, largely unaltered appearance.

This is not a conventional sandy beach. The ground consists of dark volcanic stone and pebbled areas, so you'll need water shoes if you plan to swim comfortably. There is a coastal promenade running parallel where you can walk or cycle, though direct access points from the promenade down to the shore are not particularly well developed. There are no lifeguard services or marked swimming zones.

Its main appeal lies in the natural coastal environment, suitable for walking, observing the volcanic landscape, or simply pausing in a quieter setting. It attracts those who prefer less crowded shores more closely tied to the island's original terrain.
