Barranco Encantado
The Barranco Encantado, also known as Barranco de los Enamorados, is a ravine of fossilized dunes located in the municipality of La Oliva, in northern Fuerteventura. Here you'll find a landscape formed by narrow canyons of compacted sand in yellow and orange tones, shaped over thousands of years by wind and water.
This is an uncommon geological formation on the island, the result of erosion of ancient dunes that consolidated over time. The terrain features loose rocks and steep slopes, with no marked trails, so access requires caution and some skill to navigate irregular areas.
The natural setting of the ravine offers a unique photographic backdrop, with shapes sculpted by nature that contrast with Fuerteventura's typical volcanic landscape.
