Charca de la Laja

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

La Charca de la Laja is a natural pool of volcanic origin located in the village of Arrieta, on the northeast coast of Lanzarote. It forms alongside La Garita beach, where the sea fills a depression among black volcanic rocks, creating a sheltered bathing area away from the open ocean swell.

Here you'll find a simple, traditional setting surrounded by dark lava and framed by the white houses of Arrieta. The pool usually offers calmer waters than the open sea, especially when conditions are favorable. It's a spot used by local families and visitors looking for an alternative to sandy beaches.

Access is straightforward from Arrieta village, very close to the coastal promenade. The volcanic rock coastline and the contrast with typical Canarian architecture define the character of this corner of Haría municipality.
