Playa de Santa Catalina

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa de Santa Catalina is a small pebble cove located on the northern coast of La Gomera, in the municipality of Agulo. Here you will find a rocky stretch of shoreline exposed to the open sea, surrounded by cliffs and the typical vegetation of the island's northern slopes.

Access is usually by car, descending from the main coastal road. The beach is made up of large rocks and pebbles, and offers no facilities or services. Sea conditions are often powerful, with strong waves and noticeable currents, especially in winter and spring. This is not a safe place for swimming; its main appeal lies in the natural landscape, the force of the Atlantic Ocean, and the quiet surroundings. Nearby you can find the old banana loading station, a reminder of the agricultural and industrial past of this coastal area of La Gomera.
