La Mulata Beach

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa de La Mulata is located in the municipality of Yaiza, on the southwestern coast of Lanzarote. It is a volcanic shoreline characterized by a rocky coastline that sets it apart from the sandy beaches more common on the island.

The landscape here is shaped by volcanic rock and the contrast of the sea against the dark terrain typical of Lanzarote. You won't find fine sand, but rather a ground of stones and pebbles that requires proper footwear if you decide to approach the water. The natural setting is open and quiet, characteristic of this less developed area of Yaiza.

You can reach it from nearby towns in the south of the island, where the volcanic landscape defines much of the coast. It is a spot that tends to receive fewer visitors than other sandy beaches, making it an option if you're looking for a more secluded place with a different geological character.
