Piscina Natural Charco del Palo
In Haría, Lanzarote, this open natural pool lets you swim in a volcanic setting directly connected to the Atlantic. It's located in Charco del Palo, a naturist village on the island's north coast, and you reach it by descending a stone staircase from Avenida Conde Robayna down to the black rock cove.
The water flows in and out with the tides, so the depth changes throughout the day and wave intensity depends on sea conditions. The pool is marked by buoys and has no shallow areas where you can easily stand, so it's worth checking conditions before you go in. The bottom is volcanic rock and the water is usually clear, allowing you to see fish in their natural habitat.
The atmosphere is naturist, mostly nude, though you can also wear a swimsuit. The cove offers limited space to lay towels on the rocks, and near the staircase, to the left facing the sea, you'll find another smaller, more enclosed natural pool that works as a seawater pond.
