La Arena

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa de la Arena is located in the municipality of Yaiza, Lanzarote, and is known for its black volcanic sand that contrasts with the blue ocean. This is an undeveloped natural beach set in a wild environment with minimal human intervention.

To reach this beach, you need to walk for about ten to fifteen minutes from the nearest access point, following a trail that leads to the coast. The volcanic character of the place is evident not only in the sand but also in the rock formations surrounding the beach. You can access it either by walking along the shore or crossing a small hill.

As this is an open and exposed location, the black sand absorbs a lot of heat during midday, which can make walking barefoot difficult. There are no services or facilities on this beach, so it's advisable to bring water and sun protection if you plan to spend time here.
