Playa del Risco

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa del Risco is one of those wild corners that makes you feel like you've discovered a well-kept island secret. This extensive stretch of golden sand and sea-polished pebbles extends beneath imposing cliffs, creating a contrasting landscape that captivates at first sight. Although swimming isn't recommended due to strong currents, it's the perfect spot to watch spectacular sunsets and disconnect from tourist crowds.

Access requires some adventure: a dirt road that, especially after rains, can be quite challenging for small vehicles. This very difficulty is what keeps the beach practically virgin and solitary. Windy days can be intense with blowing sand, but when conditions are right, you'll find yourself in a natural paradise almost entirely to yourself. An essential destination for lovers of pristine nature and the dramatic landscapes that only the Canary Islands know how to deliver.
