Playa de la Fajana de Franceses

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

The Acceso a la Playa de Franceses (Beach of Franceses Access) is located in Garafía, on the northwest coast of La Palma, where rugged cliffs meet the Atlantic. You reach it via a very narrow road that winds through ravines and clifftops, offering spectacular views of the island's wild coastline.

The beach itself is a striking spot with dark volcanic sand and powerful surf that makes swimming unsafe. The sea here crashes in with energy, so you come more for the dramatic scenery than for a dip. The descent to the access point can be tricky due to the steep terrain, and the approach road demands careful driving.

Close by, you can visit Rente, a small hamlet that preserves the traditional architecture of the area and adds another layer of interest to your trip through this remote corner of the island.
