Playa de la Consolación (El Gincho)
Playa de La Consolación is located in Garachico, one of the most historically charming municipalities in northern Tenerife. This small coastal area is part of the landscape shaped by the lava flows from the 1706 eruption, which completely transformed the town's former natural harbour.
Unlike sandy beaches, here the scenery is dominated by dark volcanic rock extending into the Atlantic Ocean, forming natural platforms and pools. Access is near the seafront promenade, in an area that retains the quiet atmosphere of traditional Canarian settlements.
The proximity to Garachico's historic centre allows you to combine your visit with a walk through its cobbled streets, Plaza de la Libertad or Castillo de San Miguel, all witnesses to the architectural heritage that survived the eruption.
