Playa de la Arenita
La Arenita is a 120-meter-long, 12-meter-wide beach located in Arona, Tenerife. It's part of the three beaches along Avenida Marítima de Puntalarga and is defined by its black volcanic sand and a breakwater that calms the waves near the shore.
The seabed here is considered one of the richest and most varied in the south of the island, making it an appealing spot for snorkeling if you bring water shoes: the bottom is covered with pebbles and rocks. At low tide, small pools form where you can observe marine life, a feature that often draws families with curious kids.
Being more exposed than other beaches, the sea tends to be rougher. It's not the best choice for calm swimming or sunbathing, but it works well for walking by the water, escaping the crowds of busier tourist zones, and watching the sunset over the Atlantic.
