Playa del Águila

BeachesOutdoors / Nature

Playa del Águila stretches for 650 metres along the eastern coast of La Gomera, very close to the Puntallana viewpoint and right on the border between San Sebastián de La Gomera and Hermigua. This pebble and stone beach is surrounded by towering volcanic cliffs that frame the view towards Teide.

Its isolated and undeveloped character makes it a haven of tranquillity, though reaching it demands effort: the round trip walk can take around five hours from San Sebastián de La Gomera. Here you'll find a landscape of striking natural beauty, where constant winds accompany the sea and mountain scenery.

The beach lies within the Puntallana Special Nature Reserve, an area that protects the geological and scenic value of this part of the island. Due to its location and rugged terrain, it's a destination for those seeking quiet natural spaces and direct contact with La Gomera's volcanic landscape.
