Playa Chica is a small dark-sand beach located in the urban center of El Médano, facing the fishing port of Granadilla de Abona. As the name suggests, it's a very narrow coastal strip that almost completely disappears at high tide.

Its location right in the town center makes it an accessible and popular spot, especially for watching the sunset over the ocean. However, you'll find this is a rugged area with waves that shouldn't be underestimated, so caution is necessary if you approach the water. The beach doesn't offer wide stretches of sand or traditional bathing infrastructure, but it forms part of the characteristic coastal landscape of this southern area of Tenerife.
