Piscina El Pichón

Natural Puddles and PoolsOutdoors / Nature

The Piscina Natural del Pichón is located in Punta Mujeres, a small coastal village in Haría municipality. Here you'll find a volcanic rock pool formed by the sea that fills with the tide, creating a sheltered bathing spot surrounded by black lava formations. Its name, el Pichón, refers to a small nearby volcanic crater that shapes the landscape of this northern part of Lanzarote.

The pool is framed by dark volcanic rock that contrasts with the blue of the ocean. As the tide rises, the pool gradually fills up and you can watch small fish entering with the water, such as sand divers, wrasses or damselfish. Around mid-morning the water level is usually lower, covering the rocky bottom as the day progresses.

In front of the pool there's a bar where you can have a drink, and parking is available nearby. Punta Mujeres is a quiet, small village away from the busier beaches on the island, making this natural pool a spot favored by those looking for a calmer swim in the volcanic setting typical of northern Lanzarote.
