Pino Gordo
Pino Gordo is a centuries-old Canarian pine (Pinus canariensis) standing at around 1400 metres above sea level in the municipality of Vilaflor de Chasna. It is one of the most emblematic trees in Tenerife, easily recognisable for its massive trunk perimeter and broad crown that stands out in the island's forested landscape. Its impressive size makes it a natural landmark in Tenerife, where large specimens of Canarian pine are relatively rare.
You will find benches here where you can rest and take in the surrounding pine forest and views of southern Tenerife. Visitors often try to encircle the trunk with their arms, a simple way to appreciate its dimensions up close. Pino Gordo is located near the road that runs through Vilaflor, offering a peaceful stop if you are exploring the highest municipality on the island.
