Pico Viejo

Outdoors / NatureProtected Areas

Pico Viejo is not a restaurant but one of the most impressive volcanoes in Teide National Park in Tenerife. This imposing volcanic crater has become a favorite destination for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers, offering trails of varying difficulty that allow you to explore its majestic geology. Visitors can access it via the Teide cable car and from there embark on a challenging but rewarding hike to the viewpoint.

The route from Las Narices del Teide is particularly popular among experienced hikers, featuring an elevation gain of about 1,100 meters requiring between 3 and 6 hours depending on pace. The panoramic views from the crater are absolutely spectacular: the sea of clouds beneath your feet and the chance to spot neighboring islands like Gran Canaria, La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma on clear days. It's a place that conveys nature's raw power and represents one of the most extraordinary volcanic landscapes you can experience in Spain.
