La Laja
Playa de La Laja stretches along the northern coast of Lanzarote, in the municipality of Teguise, surrounded by the volcanic landscape that defines the island. Here you'll find a beach of white, fine sand framed by dark basalt rock formations that contrast with the blue water.
Access to the sea features plenty of stones, so it's worth coming prepared if you plan to swim. The water is crystal clear, allowing you to see the seabed easily and making this an interesting spot for snorkeling when sea conditions allow. The natural setting is open and undeveloped, part of a stretch of coastline with irregular morphology and volcanic origin.
Playa de La Laja is part of Teguise's coastline, a less frequented area than other beaches in the south of the island, though visitor numbers can vary depending on the season. It's a place where the geological landscape is as prominent as the shore itself.
