Playa de la Arena is located within Arrecife harbour, in Lanzarote, near the Castillo de San José and the Muelle de Los Mármoles area. It is a small beach with dark volcanic sand, integrated into the urban and industrial port environment.

You can reach it via the coastal promenade that runs along this part of Arrecife's coast. Its location inside the harbour gives it a different character from other beaches on the island, with a more urban and less touristy profile. The water is usually clean, although the surroundings are not those of an open natural beach.

It's a spot that may interest you if you're looking for a swimming place close to the centre of Lanzarote's capital, without expecting untouched landscapes or facilities typical of larger beaches. Its particular atmosphere doesn't appeal to all visitors equally.
