Fortaleza de Chipude

La Fortaleza de Chipude stands as one of La Gomera's most breathtaking natural monuments, a volcanic rock formation rising to 1,236 meters in the island's heart. This spectacular rocky outcrop is accessible 24 hours a day and has become a pilgrimage site for hikers and nature lovers seeking absolutely stunning panoramic views.

The route to the summit is medium to advanced level, with a final 15-minute ascent that includes considerably steep sections and some passages along cliff edges. The complete round trip from the parking area near the electrical transformer takes approximately 2 hours. While the climb demands some physical effort, the reward at the peak is worth every step: 360-degree views encompassing much of La Gomera and the Atlantic Ocean.

Highly valued by experienced hikers, this location is not recommended for those with vertigo, especially on windy days.
