CAAM - Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno
In the heart of Vegueta, the Atlantic Centre of Modern Art occupies an 18th-century three-storey building at Calle los Balcones, 11. Its traditional Canarian architecture, featuring interior courtyards and a stone façade, provides the setting for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art including painting, sculpture, photography and video art by international artists.
The museum sits within the historic quarter of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, close to Santa Ana Cathedral and Plaza del Pilar Nuevo. Exhibition rooms are spread across several floors connected by staircases and galleries opening onto the central courtyard, where natural light accompanies your visit. The programme changes regularly, showcasing work by Canarian, African, Latin American and European creators.
You can walk here from Puerto de la Luz or Las Canteras beach in around 25 minutes, crossing the old town. The main entrance opens directly onto Calle los Balcones, in a pedestrian area surrounded by historic buildings and local restaurants.
