Santa Cruz Self Guided Scavenger Hunt and Walking Tour

Experiences

About this experience

This activity has been designed by a local ‘expert’, who has created a fun experience that takes you to some of the town’s highlights and the lesser-known places, away from all the tourists. The puzzles are designed to help you experience the place from a different perspective – using landmarks, murals, statues etc - and you’ll even learn some ‘fun facts’ along the way. The self-guided aspect of our activity means that you can rush through as fast as you like or stop for a drink or something to eat as you like. The app remembers your progress and even allows you to complete it another day. This activity aims to strike a fun balance between challenging puzzles, a fun outing with friends and family, and a pleasant walk around outside.

Itinerary

This activity is a new way to explore and enjoy Santa Cruz. It is a cross between a walking tour, an escape room, and a scavenger hunt. Each puzzle uses items in plain sight. They might be murals, buildings, landmarks, water features, statues, play areas, or information boards. The questions are designed to make you think and pay attention, making for a fun group activity. Our App helps you navigate between puzzles without simply asking you to follow a dot on a map. Hints can be used if you need assistance solving any of the puzzles. This activity takes place in the heart of Santa Cruz. We start near the cruise terminal and visit many of the popular and interesting locations in Santa Cruz, including - Plaza Espana, Plaza Candalaria, the church of La Senora Conception, La Senora market, Parque del Principe and Plaza San Francisco. The route is almost a loop, returning you to around 150m from the start location. The route covers roughly 2.5 km and consists of 20+ clues. To make sure everyone is engaged, we suggest groups of 2 to 4 participants. If your group is larger, split into smaller teams for a fun, friendly competition. Are you ready?
