Itinerary
Most Teide sunrise hikes drag you up the mountain in the dark from the bottom. Not this one. You sleep on the volcano. If you book this for MONDAY then we start on SUNDAY a day BEFORE. We hike up through Teide National Park for about 4 hours- a UNESCO World Heritage site - to the Altavista Refuge at 3,270 meters. You settle into the highest mountain in Spain as the sun drops and the stars take over. Then you rest. Around 5:30 AM we make the final push to the summit at 3,718 meters - Spain's highest point. It's a short, sharp climb, and you'll feel every meter of the thin air. But you're fresh, not wrecked from an all-night march. At the top, the sky cracks open. Gold and crimson spill across the Atlantic. And Teide throws its shadow - a perfect triangle stretching across a sea of clouds, the longest shadow on the Island... Then the best part for your legs: no grinding hike back down. We ride the cable car. Official Accredited Teide National Park Guide, national park permits, and summit access included. Refuge bed and cable car ticket paid on site - 75 euro for the Altavista Refuge and 25 euro for cable car.
