For anyone fascinated with volcanoes the Timanfaya visitor centre is not to be missed. The centre has lots of information, facts and figures, not just about Lanzarote but general volcanology from around the world. The exhibition also includes a seismograph, meteosat and meteorological station and there are videos and interactive maps. There is a great viewing platform where you can see the expanse of the Timanfaya lava flow.

The Lagomar Museum, also known as the House of Omar Sharif, is a wonderful construction sheltered among the remains of an old quarry in the small town of Nazaret. The house, which was originally conceived by César Manrique and designed by artist Jesus Soto is a perfect combination of art and nature, with tunnels, caves and terraces. Each corner designed with beautiful detail.
