Santuario Del Santisimo Cristo De La Laguna

The access to the building is made through an entry of three arcs of average point directed on the Square of the Christ. After this entry, a small square extends, bounded northward by buildings leaned by the franciscan residence. The Sanctuary was built after the fire of 1810 which the convent underwent. It is a very simple construction, where the space reduced to a single room, without collateral chapels. We enter by a door below the high chorus. The Altar has a silver fronteau. The image of the Christ of La Laguna was realized in a noble wood of Flanders, by the Belgian sculptor Louis Van Der Vule at about XVIth century. Said image is valuable historic and artistic, it benefits from a big worship not only in the city of La Laguna, but also in the rest of the islands.
