Parque García Sanabria
García Sanabria Park / Parque García Sanabria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife was built in 1926 and it was built because it was necessary to provide the city with a large landscape area in which there were also fountains and architectural ensemble. This park owes its name to the mayor García Sanabria who sanctioned its building. García Sanabria Park / Parque García Sanabria is regarded as being the biggest urban park in the Canary Islands. This park is 67.230 square metres. Between December 1973 and January 1974 the college of architects in the Canary Islands organized the I Exposición Internacional de Escultura en la Calle. Thanks to this exhibition forty works by national and foreign sculptors were displayed in the park as well as in different parts of the city. Today thirteen of these works can be seen in García Sanabria Park / Parque García Sanabria.
