Parlamento De Canarias

The building which shelters the seat of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, is situated in the historic and commercial center of the capital of Tenerife. The original building was conceived by the architect Manuel de Oraá in 1883 for the office of Musical company "Santa Cecilia". But, then it underwent numerous renovations and was enlarged by joining a new modern building, which in my opinion does not stick too much. Its old facade is visible since the nearby court. It is stone and looks like a Greek temple, with spread out base ending in a classic triangular front wall. It has a shape of U, with two sides, and the center forms the court. Besides the offices of the government, there are temporary exhibitions of art which we can visit.
