The existence of two convents in Santa Cruz is something that might surprise today. The only feature of these two foundations that has endured is the magnificent church of San Francisco, part of the old Franciscan monastery. The current façade of the church of San Francisco dates to approximately year 1777. Inside, the central altarpiece is considered a jewel of the Baroque in the Canaries.
