The parish of Nuestra Señora de La Concepción is a Catholic temple. This church is the most important temple and church in the city. This is the reason why this church is called “La Catedral de Santa Cruz” by many people from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in spite of not being a cathedral or a basilica. This church was built on the first chapel which the Spanish conquerors built after they had disembarked in Tenerife. In 1500 the jobs to build a church were started and such a church was dedicated to the city which was founded by Father Juan Guerra, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. La Iglesia de la Concepción was the first church which was built in Tenerife Island.
