Avenida De Anaga

The Avenue Francisco La Roche (popularly known as Avenue of Anaga) is a main avenue which crosses the most oriental extremity of the city of Santa Cruz of Tenerife. It wears this name in honor to Francisco de Asís La-Roche y Aguilar, an ancient mayor of the city and president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, among others important posts. It is near the port of Santa Cruz of Tenerife, and arrives at the Place of Spain in the center of the city. It is one of the main arteries of the city, and it is also mainly used in the parades of the chicharrero carnival, as in the Big Amphitheatre Apoteósis of the Carnival. The avenue has shops, offices, discotheques and restaurants.
